MECHANIC

BRIAN HALL

Brian aka Blackdog is our mechanic who initially joined us on a self employed basis with his own workshop within the depot. He has looked after the Hampson Haulage Vehicle Fleet since July 2009. He specialises in DAF trucks which is useful for us and we are yet to find anything he is unable to diagnose or rectify. When we need Brian to stay over to keep the expanding fleet on the road we find that the occasional crate of Guinness works wonders.

WAREHOUSE

VICTOR HARRIS

Victor joined us in July 2018 to assist in the running of our warehouse. He looks after goods in/out making sure that our storage space is utilised efficiently. He also liaises with our customers who store their goods with us making sure the correct products are received or sent out.

DRIVERS

PHIL TAYLOR – Class 3 LGV

Phil started in January 2002. Phil loves to be on the road and the longer the distance the happier he is. His allocated vehicle is A11 HHL our small crane which is used for general haulage. Phil spends as much time as he can at Monty’s Sandwich Bar on Doranda Way, which seems a perfectly good place as any to us.

PETE STRAWBRIDGE – Class 2 HGV

Pete joined us in December 2007 after working for a few months as a casual when required. Pete has an ALLMI hiab licence which is utilised on his allocated vehicle HH02 DAF. Despite living in Coventry and unfortunately being a Coventry City fan, Pete can be a useful member of the team.

JOHN GROVES – Class 1 HGV

John joined us in June 2008 to work on general haulage. His allocated vehicle is HH07 DAF which is his pride and joy and kept immaculate; his lorry always gets a lot of attention. He is an experienced hand on the hiab which enables him to unload quickly and easily when required.

SLAV ANGIYU – Class 1 HGV

Slav started in Summer 2010, Slav the impaler has a wicked sense of humour. Originally from Russia but has been an English resident for over 10 years, and speaks better English than most of our Brummies. He drives his allocated vehicle HH07 DAF (the sister vehicle to HH57 DAF) on general haulage.

ADRIAN MILLWARD – Class 3 LGV

Adrian started in June 2013. Adrian has surprised us all by becoming a useful member of the team despite his previous driving experience of open backed transits. His allocated vehicle is GN07 BRV one of our 7.5t flat beds used for general haulage.

MINDA GLODENIS – Class 1 HGV

Minda joined us in February 2014 after we got to know him as a bar manager serving Hobgoblin at the Rose and Crown in Portway. He went home to Lithuania to train and get his Class 1 HGV licence after we saw his hard work ethic we confirmed we would have a vacancy for him if he passed, his allocated vehicle is A2 HHL

CHRIS CHAPMAN – Class 1 HGV

Chris also joined us in November 2014, Chris settled in very quickly and has taken on the responsibility of providing the mess room and tea facilities at our Truck Fest appearances by dragging his caravan along to the events. Chris can be seen driving his allocated vehicle PO15 AVY which is far too big for his small height, on general haulage.

DALBIR THIND – Class 2 HGV

Dalbir joined us in October 2015 and undertook work experience with us while taking his Class 2 licence, his allocated vehicle is HH56 DAF. JASON BIRD – Class 2 HGV

Jason gave up a very lucrative managers job to join us in January 2018 to fulfill his ambition of driving for a living. He has already progressed to Class 2 vehicles and passed his hiab licence. He can be seen driving his allocated vehicle A13 HHL on general haulage and covers the crane vehicles when required.

DAVE ROBERTS – Class 1 HGV

Dave aka Trigger joined us in February 2018 and can be found driving PO15 AVN usually on a contract run delivering to garden centres across the UK. He is far happier when out all week and it also benefits us in the office allowing us to avoid his terrible jokes.

BEN BECKLEY – Class 1 HGV

Ben re joined us in January 2019 having previously worked for us between 2016 and 2018. It is surprising it took him as long as 10months to realise the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. He has been allocated A12 HHL and is usually utilised on general haulage.
